Krista Turner

Chief Operating Officer

 

Krista is passionate about serving business owners through personal relationships and best-in-class products and technology.  As an engineer, Krista prioritizes operational process discipline to ensure PEO services are delivered timely and accurately.  A true believer in strategic risk management, Krista is always deploying various strategies to mitigate risk for the business owner.  She brings deep experience managing workers’ compensation and employment practices claims to favorable outcomes.

Krista joined Merit Resources in 2009 as the Manager of Risk Services, and over the next 11 years, served in leadership roles with increasing responsibility for the PEO’s payroll, payroll tax, benefit and risk management offerings.  She led PrismHR system conversions, implemented quality programs, established audit protocol, streamlined year-end processes and played a key role in M&A and compliance initiatives.  In 2020, Krista moved to the software side of the PEO industry, spending a year with EPAY Systems, a PrismHR Company, where she was tasked with implementing software-based operational best practices to support scalable growth.   

Krista was born and raised in Iowa.  She holds a B.S. in Engineering Management from Miami University of Ohio and a J.D. from Drake University Law School.  Krista is married with three children, a dog and a cat.  On the weekends, you’ll find Krista’s family at soccer or basketball games, spending time together or traveling. Krista serves on the Finance Council and the Risk Management Committee for the Catholic Diocese of Des Moines.
